Onwards and Upwards.

After a disappointing season as was had in 2018, it would be easy for supporters to let their heads drop and lose faith in the club. However, this is the time when we need to show our support the most. In recent years the club has become completely fan owned, which is great to see, but it just won’t work unless people are willing to join the co-op. The simple fact is, the more people who join, the more resources the club will have available to them, and the better the club will perform.

In the past few days the club has received brilliant news in the Comer’s purchase of the Mountain South site near Athenry. This site will be used for a state of the art Academy facility, which will be a massive boost for the development of the club.

Another positive to be taken is the the success of the underage structures at the club. As well as great success at underage level, several players have made the step up from Under 17 and Under 19 level to make their senior debuts. They retain fantastic prospects for years to come.

The final aspect to be appreciated is the fact that we have a club, and it’s ours. Considering what happened to the club a few years ago and what seems to be happening to a League of Ireland club or two every year, this is something that can’t be underestimated. More importantly, we need to ensure this continues into the future, and this can only happen if people support the co-op.

Onwards and upwards.
