Player Profile: Marc Ludden.

Born and bred in Galway, Marc progressed through the Underage ranks at Mervue United. He appeared for them in the SSE Airtricity League for them before re-joining United in 2014. Since then he has gone on to become an integral player for Galway United having made almost 150 appearances to-date.

Favourite players growing up?

I’m a Fulham fan and so Louis Saha would have been my favourite player for them. Globally, though, it would have been Zidane.

Favourite Galway United moments?

Getting promoted against UCD.

The EA Sports Cup Final.

Beating Sligo Rovers last season in a must win game.

Favourite League of Ireland ground?

My favourite League of Ireland ground is Turner’s Cross.

Best away fans in the League of Ireland?

Bohs always have great fans, home or away.

Best dance moves on the United team?

Walshy or Conor Gleeson.

Pineapple on pizza… yes or no?

No to pineapple on pizza!

Who’s the team joker?

We have a few on the team.  Robbie, Ryan, Walshy, Gleeson, and Timmy.

Fastest players in the United squad?

From our tests we do: Carlton, Melody, Me, and Conor Barry.

Best opposition player faced?

Conan Byrne is still one of the smartest wingers in the League of Ireland.

Best tekkers on the United team?

That’s a tough one, probably Conor Barry.
